While walking, biking or driving around the Estates of Forest Creek (EFC) community, I trust you have noticed the landscape beautification improvements in the medians along our main thoroughfare – Hearst Castle Way.
Although still a EFC Homeowners Association (HOA) “work in progress”, these medians are looking more beautiful every day.
For those of you that pay your annual EFC HOA membership dues and those willing to volunteer, it is YOUR support that is making this possible. This is exactly how we keep our neighborhood a great place to live.
Our 2016 HOA Membership Drive is off to a great start as we already have over 200 households having paid their current year dues as of the end of April. This puts us well ahead of last year at this time; however, with over 430 homes in our EFC community, we clearly have the potential for much more support. YOUR participation is key. Please see the Membership Update article in this newsletter for further details and how to Join Now.
I want to take a moment to recognize Kristen Kerwin, our EFC HOA Director of Beautification. We are very fortunate to have Kristen’s landscaping expertise and passion as a certified “Master Gardener”, along with her dedication to making our community more beautiful in service to the HOA Board. Thank you Kristen for the countless hours you volunteer to make all of us feel better about where we live.
Your HOA is hosting several events over the next few months that we would love for all residents to attend.
- On May 15th, we are having our 2nd annual “International Spring Fling”. This event was so much fun last year. Bring a lawn chair and join in on the fun!
- On June 4th, we have our another informal Saturday morning neighborhood “Meet and Greet” – this time at Lee & Julie Harrington’s home. We hope to see you there to enjoy the company of your neighbors and Mr. Harrington’s gorgeous gardens.
- Later in June (date tbd), you are invited to a “Home Garden Tour & Talk” at John Caldwell’s house where EFC’s “Mr Green Thumb” will be proudly displaying his vegetable gardens, fig trees, and pecan tree. You and your family are sure to leave with new ideas for gardening at your own home!
- Monthly HOA Board Meetings the first Tuesday evening in June and then, each month starting in August through year-end. These are an opportunity for any and all EFC residents to have closer contact with our HOA Board and all matters they manage on behalf of our entire community.
On behalf of your EFC HOA Board and Directors, we hope that you and your families have a fantastic summer!
Scarlette Cassedy, EFC HOA President
