I am delighted to share with you good news regarding our neighborhood and HOA. We have exited a difficult period of uncertainty transitioning from the 2013 Board with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. Through this transition we’ve carefully listened and taken into consideration your ideas and concerns. The new and improved services rolling out, he management and accountability of your Board, and our collective vision for the future reflect your voice. Of course none of this is possible without your concern for the community and willingness to support your HOA. On behalf of the 2014 Board, Block and Zone Captains, our sincerest thanks to you!Our biggest challenge for 2014 and 2015 is to increase our membership, we need another 50 contributing households to catch up with prior year’s levels. Your voluntary dues enable us to fulfill our community’s financial obligations, the largest being maintenance of our common areas including the grass border facing Coit Road, our Hogan Manor and Hearst Castle entryways, and the Hearst Castle median. Franck Cassara long with the Block and Zone Captains have done a great job kick-starting our membership drive, please let them know you appreciate their hard work on your behalf. Rob Protacio, your VP, is leading the initiative to update your HOA governing Bylaws. Our objective is to have fair, simple, and clear governing Bylaws. You will have the opportunity to review and comment on these Bylaws before our fall HOA meeting, please let us know what you think.
On October 5th we’ll have an evening Crime Watch and movie night. Office Mark Dawson from the Plano Police Department will be our honored guest. We’ll have a fun movie and refreshments for kids of all ages. Stay tuned for more details and mark your calendars for this opportunity to meet your neighbors.
The EFCHOA will shortly have a Website up and running. Our goal is to promote living in EFC reflecting the vibrancy, sense of community, security, and quality of live we all enjoy. The Website has two purposes, to expose the EFC to the larger world and to provide our community with a valuable resource to enhance our daily lives. Some 80 other HOA’s in Plano have Websites illustrating the benefits of their communities and we want to be that visible too. We’ll work hard to ensure folks wishing to relocate to Plano can find the EFC. Importantly, the Website will centralize lots of information and activities about Plano, Collin County, and our neighborhood schools that impact our daily lives. Let Jim Demarest or myself know if you would be interested in participating in the Website initiative or if you have content you would like to see on the Website.
Finally, we are beginning preparations for a November HOA Board election. If you feed called to serve and would like to be part of a fun and energetic HOA team, please let us know of your interest. 2014 is shaping up to be a great year for your HOA. Thank you again for your support.
All the very best to you and your families.
Jack Gary, President, EFCHOA
