Great EFC Community Turnout for “Fall Festival / National Night Out” on Oct 11th

With one of our best community turnouts ever, about 120 of our Estates of Forest 10-11-15 fall festival - handmade sign for overall eventCreek (EFC) neighbors gathered in the Tidewater Drive cul-de-sac Sunday evening, October 11th, for our annual EFC Fall Festival, combined this year with the annual National Night Out celebration.

The smoky smell of Rudy’s Bar-B-Q lured in old and new neighbors alike!

Rudy’s served up brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and plenty of traditional Texas side dishes.  Ice cold tea and lemonade made the 90+ degree temperatures tolerable, as did the pleasant cooler breeze after sundown!

Officer Bianez, with the Plano Police Department, gave us some great crime-prevention tips and reminded us that, even though we live in one of the safest cities in America, it’s always important to report anything we think is suspicious.  With his colorful delivery, Officer Bianez was able to make a serious subject a fun learning experience.  He even brought his boom-box/music and taught us a few dance moves!  The kids got a chance to check out his squad car too.

10-11-15 fall festival - kids at table with pumkinsAt the craft table, children were busy decorating gourds and pumpkins.  Some of the kids displayed such creativity in decorating their pumpkins. They also enjoyed running along the greenbelt by the creek and tossing a few balls.

At dark, the giant inflatable outdoor movie screen lit up with the movie, Hocus Pocus.  The young and young-at-heart chilled out, languishing in the last few hours before the relaxing EFC social gathering ended.

It was a fun evening.  Long-time residents and new neighbors enjoyed the chance to get acquainted.  It was great to hear our friends and neighbors sharing laughs and stories, and realizing we all have the support, care and concern for our EFC family.10-11-15 fall festival - nice crowd shot sitting and standing in cul-de-sac
